The CDU is designed for charging and discharging individual BRIX lithium-ion battery modules. The purpose is to set the module voltage so that it is the same as for other modules in the same battery set.
The CDU 4,2V/30A charger has been designed for charging individual LIONBRIX battery modules, called BRIX, during service and/or replacement of modules in larger battery configurations. Outside of charging the BRIX battery modules to a user controlled voltage level, the CDU charger also provides a discharge capability and can thus also discharge the battery to a user controlled voltage level. The charger communicates with the BRIX battery module through a specific interface, monitoring and adapting charging status according to module's status status.
