- Establish cross-functional category teams to drive category strategies, develop collaboration with suppliers and optimize supply chain. You will be involved in driving technology, quality and product management within the category.
- Optimize costs according to the TCO model and ensure optimal availability and innovation to keep the company at the forefront.
- Manage external relationships with suppliers and be responsible for internal activities related to the battery category, including contract negotiations, new product development, and quality and capacity assessments.
- Collaborate with the global strategic procurement team, vendor developers, and product owners and technology specialists to design long-term strategy and risk mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of global supplier markets, competitors and product innovations.
Qualifications
- Approximately 7-10 years of experience in strategic or category-based purchasing work, preferably with specific knowledge of lithium-ion batteries.
- You have a relevant academic degree or vocational training in strategic purchasing or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in contract writing, making demands on suppliers and negotiations.
- Strong analytical skills and habit of using data to make decisions both internally and externally.
- Good knowledge of supply chain strategy and category specific experience.
- Independent and results-oriented with the ability to handle complex challenges in a fast-moving organization.
- Documented experience in leadership, negotiation and strategic communication.
- Experience of collaborating at different levels within a diverse, global organization.
The purchasing organization
The purchasing organization at Micropower today consists of four category leaders, six project purchasers and two supplier developers. The category leader role reports directly to VP Procurement.
Location and travel
The position is located in Gothenburg at our development center for lithium-ion batteries, close to our development unit. The head office is in Växjö. Global travel occurs, approximately 30–50 days per year.
