In order to manage the continued strong drive to drive product development, we are now looking for a Project Purchaser. The Project Purchasing team currently consists of six project purchasers. All report to VP Procurement.
Main responsibilities
- Represent the purchasing organization in development projects and have full responsibility for all purchasing-related issues.
- Ensure that purchased components and materials are delivered on time, with the right quality and within agreed costs.
- Drive standardization in development projects to reduce costs and increase flexibility.
- Collaborate with category leaders and introduce innovations from the supplier base in the development projects.
- Coordinate purchases with project teams, technical departments and suppliers.
- Evaluate and negotiate agreements with suppliers for cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
- Challenge and analyze existing processes and technology choices to improve product performance and reduce costs.
Your profile and qualifications
To succeed in this role, we believe you have solid experience in practical tactical purchasing as well as experience in project management and working with cross-functional teams. Experience from an international environment is advantageous.
In terms of personal qualities, we believe that you have a structured working method, high integrity and a driving and selling personality. You are likely to be a strong communicator and have good negotiation skills. We believe in strong teamwork both within your own team and across team boundaries.
- Technical education, preferably in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, electronics or similar.
- Several years of experience in project purchasing, all strategic purchasing and project management, preferably in technology-heavy industries.
- Proven experience working closely with engineering and development teams, with the ability to understand and support technical requirements within projects.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with both customers and suppliers, with a focus on balancing commercial and technical needs.
- High degree of curiosity and commitment, with an ability to challenge existing processes and propose improvements.
- Good communication skills and used to working in cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.
The purchasing organization
The purchasing organization at Micropower today consists of four category leaders, six project purchasers and two supplier developers. The project purchaser role reports directly to the VP Procurement.
Location and travel
The position is located in Gothenburg at our development center for lithium-ion batteries, close to our development unit. The head office is in Växjö. Travel in the service is limited but may occur.
